Museum lighting revisited

This presentation will enable the audience to expand their knowledge of challenges in museum lighting and gain information about creative ways of using new tools in architectural lighting. Dr. Dorukalp Durmus will challenge lighting practitioners to think outside the box and inspire them to explore new directions for future lighting practice.

Dr Durmus is a lighting designer, researcher, and educator. He has more than seven years’ design experience and has published several papers both in magazines and scientific journals. He completed his Master’s degree in Architectural Lighting Design at KTH University in Stockholm/SE and gained his PhD in Architecture from the University of Sydney/AUS.

Alp is currently working as an Honorary Associate in the School of Architecture, Design and Planning at the University of Sydney. He teaches on the Illumination Design Master’s programme and conducts research on intelligent lighting systems, the visual appearance of architectural spaces, light source optimisation, and colorimetry.
