The presentation will allow audience to understand how important advanced medical and IT technologies are for the lighting design community, and that there is now an opportunity to adapt them to serve human and industry needs. One idea to be presented is the development of portable diagnostic systems, which will allow the lit environment to be adjusted according to the psycho-physiological state of a given person.

Daria Chirimisina/RU, ITMO University

Daria Chirimisina first studied Environmental Design to Bachelor level at Samara State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, and then registered for the Master’s programme in Lighting Design at ITMO University, Saint Petersburg/RU in the Creative Lighting Department. She is now teaching Interactive Design and BCI (brain-computer interface) as part of the Master programme in Lighting Design at ITMO, whilestudying for her PhD in the Faculty of Applied Optics at the same university.

Yulia Lyubakova/RU, ITMO University

Yulia Lyubakovafirst studied Architectural Design to Bachelor level at Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov before studying for her Master’s degree in Lighting Design at ITMO University, Saint Petersburg/RU in the Creative Lighting Department. She is now working as a lighting designer in St. Petersburg.
