A trained architect and advocate of all things related to lighting, design, education and research, Dr. Amardeep M. Dugar is founder of the company Lighting Research & Design. After gaining a Master’s degree in Architectural Lighting at the University of Wismar/DE, he pursued a PhD at Victoria University of Wellington/NZ. Aside from working on high-profile projects and teaching at several architecture and design schools, he has organised a number of IALD India Light Workshops, practical hands-on educational light installation workshops for students and professionals.

Jane Slade, MID, LC, IES is the Specification Sales Manager for Speclines, a lighting manufacturer’s representative agency specializing in outdoor lighting for municipalities, universities, corporations, commercial developments, and transportation agencies through an interdisciplinary approach of blending design, science and the latest technology. Jane is a recent Richard Kelly Grant recipient for her explorations into the social and emotional impacts of light, for her work in creating lighting fixtures from waste materials in India, and through art installations focused on manipulating emotional experiences with light and color. Jane is a member of the IES Committee for Outdoor Environmental Lighting. She is an artist utilizing light as a medium and currently working on an upcoming art show. She also teaches yoga in her home city – Cambridge, MA.
