We are happy to announce that The University of Edinburgh has accepted to be a Partner University of PLDC 2019.
The Edinburgh College of Art is part of the wider University of Edinburgh community and internationally acclaimed for its open and participative teaching and research environment. Being part of ECA encourages collaboration with other design subjects, such as Fashion, Textiles, Graphic Design, Product Design and Architecture. Since 2014 ECA have had a collaborative partnership with Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation.
There is also a close relationship between the Interior Design undergraduate programme and ECA’s postgraduate programmes. The Interior Design programme provides dynamic and contemporary training in the interior built environment. Teaching is delivered by experienced practitioners and academics who recognise that ‘interior space’ spans a vast range of environments. The specialist 11-week, level 10 course in architectural lighting, “Lighting for Spaces”, is available to year 3 and Masters students. All students are encouraged to fully understand place making, not just within the context and history of the individual building, but also in the wider urban and social context.
