The University of Applied Sciences Wismar

We are happy to announce that The University of Applied Sciences Wismar has accepted to be a Partner University of PLDC 2019.

Michael Rohde: „When it comes to education and networking, PLDC is a must! That is why University of Wismar has been a Partner University from the start – 2019 will be the eighth time.”

Architecture, Interior Design, Architectural Lighting Design, Visual Communication and Media Design, Product Design as well as Jewellery Design are among the focal courses of study offered by the Faculty of Design at the University of Applied Sciences Wismar. Since bringing the existing degree courses together under one faculty roof in 2007, an integral perception of design, art and architecture is represented without relinquishing the autonomy and quality of each course.

One focal point of the training lies in the draft and project assignment to be completed by each student individually. The students receive intensive support and guidance from the tutors, some of which is on a one-to-one basis. A further quality feature of the course is to be found in the broad spectrum of subjects in design, art, handicrafts and technology as well as in scientific disciplines. Many of the lectures offered in the various degree courses are open to students from the other respective courses of study in design. In addition to this opportunity granted to students to attend such interdisciplinary teaching sessions, these efforts are also expressed in joint projects, such as the Faculty Year Book.

The University of Applied Sciences Wismar won the PLDR Award for Education at PLDC 2013 in Copenhagen.
